Delhi Assembly Security Breach: A major security lapse came to light in the Delhi Assembly when a car with UP number broke the barrier and entered inside. Police have arrested three accused including Sarabjit Singh of Pilibhit. The investigation into the reason behind throwing ink and placing a bouquet on the Speaker’s car is ongoing.
There was a stir in the Delhi Assembly on Monday when a white car suddenly broke the security barrier and entered the premises. There were three people in the car. As soon as the car stopped, a person came out, threw ink on the speaker’s car, placed a bouquet there and sat back in the car. The police came into action immediately after the incident and within some time the three accused were arrested.
In this entire matter, the person who was driving the car is being discussed the most. According to the police, he is Sarabjit Singh, a resident of Pilibhit district of Uttar Pradesh. Now the investigating agencies are trying to find out why he entered the car in a secure complex like Delhi Assembly.

The accused is a resident of Pilibhit
Initial police investigation has revealed that the white Tata Sierra car used in the incident is registered in the name of Sarabjit Singh. He is said to be a resident of Puranpur police station area of Pilibhit district. He was driving the car at the time of the incident. Delhi Police has arrested Sarabjit from Roop Nagar area. Two other people present in the car with him have also been detained and are being interrogated.
Car entered from VIP gate number 2
According to the information, the car had entered from VIP Gate No. 2 of Delhi Assembly. This gate is considered very sensitive and central forces are deployed here for security. Despite this, the car breaking the barrier and reaching inside is raising questions on the security system. It is being told that Sarabjit had come to Delhi to search for one of his cousins. Initial information has also revealed that his mental condition is not completely good and he is undergoing treatment. However, the police is also investigating this claim.
What is the motive behind throwing bouquets and ink?
During the incident, a person who got out of the car threw ink on the speaker’s car in the assembly premises and placed a bouquet. After this he immediately sat in the car and all three left from there. Police got the bouquet examined, but no explosive or suspicious thing was found in it. Despite this, the investigating agencies are trying to find out what was the real motive behind this entire incident.
Police are also investigating social media posts
During the investigation, it has also come to light that Sarabjit Singh has been posting posts related to the farmers’ movement on social media. Some of his old posts have since been deleted. The police are now also looking into whether there was any attempt to send any message behind this incident.
Committee formed to investigate security lapse
After this incident in Delhi Assembly, serious questions have been raised regarding the security arrangements. A high level committee has been formed to investigate the matter. The responsibility of investigation has been given to senior police officers. After the incident, the country’s Home Minister Amit Shah spoke to Delhi Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta on phone and got information about the entire matter.
The speaker said that senior police officers had reached the spot and investigation into the matter is going on. At present, the police is interrogating the three accused and trying to find out what was their real intention behind ramming the car into the Delhi Assembly.
