KEAM 2026: CEE Kerala permits exam center change option for Gulf region candidates

New Delhi: Students based in the Gulf region have been given a relief amid the turmoil caused by the war in the West Asia. The Commissioner for Entrance Examinations (CEE), Kerala, has given candidates appearing for the Kerala Engineering Architecture Medical (KEAM) 2026 exam with a one-time opportunity to change their allotted examination centres.

The move comes following disruptions in travel plans for a number of applicants, particularly those who had originally selected the UAE (Sharjah) as their examination location.

In its announcement, the CEE acknowledged the problem faced by candidates in commuting to their assigned centres due to the current tensions in the region. Considering their difficulties, the authorities have set up a special centre-change facility so that no eligible student is prevented from appearing for the examination due to circumstances beyond their control.

Due to the revision process of KEAM, the release of the KEAM 2026 admit card is facing delays. The hall ticket, which was earlier expected on April 1, will be issued on April 8 now. Once released, candidates have been asked to download their admit cards from the official CEE website.

Which students can carry out the centre change?

The CEE has listed the categories of students who are eligible to opt for this facility. Those who had originally chosen the UAE (Sharjah) centre and are currently present in Kerala can change to a centre within the state.

Conversely, candidates who had opted for a Kerala centre but are currently in the Gulf region meduay select a centre there. Besides, those with the UAE as their allotted centre can opt for either Kuwait or Bahrain as an alternative examination location.

The CEE has pointed out that the deadline for making request for a centre change is final and will not be extended under any circumstances. Students have been asked to complete the process within the given timeframe so that no complications arise.

How can the exam centre be changed?

In order to update their exam centre, candidates will have to visit the official CEE website at cee.kerala.gov.in and click on the KEAM 2026 application link. They must log in using their application number and password. After doing so, candidates should click on the “Change Centre” option, select their preferred new examination centre, and submit the request.

It is advised that candidates keep tabs on the official website for future updates regarding the admit card and any other examination-related notification.
