IPL Points Table 2026 Updated, After Royal Challengers Bengaluru vs Chennai Super Kings Match: The glory of the Royals is being seen in the IPL 2026 season. On one side is the current champion Royal Challengers Bangalore and on the other side is Rajasthan Royals. Both the teams have made an explosive start to the season and hence there is a battle going on between them to get the first place in the points table. The reign of Rajasthan Royals, who held the first position in this table after the 9th match of the season, ended within just 24 hours as champion RCB again occupied the number-1 position.

Two matches were played in the 19th season of IPL played on Sunday 5th April. The first match in this will be between Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). Lucknow won this match by 5 wickets and opened its account. This was the team’s first win in 2 matches and thus it got 2 points. This was Hyderabad’s second defeat in 3 matches. In this way Hyderabad also had only 2 points. Despite the defeat, due to better net run rate, SRH (0.275) is in fifth place, while Lucknow (-0.42) has moved up from eighth to seventh.

Bengaluru again became number-1

After this, the second match of the day took place at M Chinnaswamy Stadium, which was a blockbuster match of this double header. In this match, Bengaluru scored 250 runs and defeated Chennai by 43 runs. This was Bengaluru’s second consecutive win in 2 matches in the season while Chennai had to face its third consecutive defeat. Now with this win, Bengaluru also got 4 points like Rajasthan, Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals, but due to better NRR, RCB removed Rajasthan from the first position. RCB’s net run rate is 2.507 and it has again reached number-1.

What is the condition of other teams?

Rajasthan is at second place (2.233). Delhi Capitals (1.170) is at third place, while Punjab is at fourth place with NRR of 0.637. Talking about other teams, Mumbai Indians is at sixth place. After 11 matches, Gujarat Titans, Kolkata Knight Riders and Chennai are the only three teams left whose account has not been opened yet. In this too, Chennai is the only one which has lost all three matches. Whereas Gujarat and Kolkata have lost 2-2 matches. Only due to the difference in NRR, Gujarat is at 8th, KKR is at ninth and Chennai is at the last position.
