The Central Government has sanctioned ₹758 crore for four-laning of Itarsi-Betul NH-46. The project includes a 22 km tiger corridor and underpasses for wildlife. This will make travel faster, connectivity will be easier and wildlife will be safe.
Bhopal: Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for sanctioning Rs 758 crore for making the 22 km long Tiger Corridor four-lane in the Itarsi-Betul section of National Highway-46 in the state. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav has also congratulated Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari for granting approval to make this Tiger Corridor four-lane. He said that with the Central Government giving approval for the construction of four lanes in this section, a new wind of development will flow here. This decision of the Central Government will change the picture and destiny of this entire area. Along with faster movement of passenger vehicles and goods vehicles through four lanes, regional development including easy access to civic services and facilities will also progress at four times the speed. This entire area with four lane approval is a big center of farming. Natural mineral resources like coal, copper, graphite and lead-zinc are also present in abundance here.
It will be a wonderful journey on Gwalior-Betul Corridor Highway
Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Shri Gadkari said on social media ‘X’ that making this section four lane will reduce the time taken to transport goods in the entire area and will also increase safety. Besides, access to markets and markets will also become easier for farmers. In this project, 11 special underpasses and overpasses will be built for animals to cross the road safely, which will drastically reduce road accidents in the nearby wildlife areas. With the upgrading of this remaining 22 km stretch, the entire Gwalior-Betul corridor will become a four-lane highway. This will reduce travel time, improve road safety in hilly areas and also promote eco-tourism in Madhav National Park, Ratapani and Satpura Tiger Reserve.
This highway will directly connect Nagpur
This National Highway is also helpful in connecting North to South by directly connecting Nagpur beyond Betul. With the construction of four lanes in this section, road connectivity from North to South states will become even easier, simpler and convenient.
