After some time, Sushila gave birth to a girl and Chanchala gave birth to a son. When this happened, Chanchala started taunting Sushila, ‘You observed so many fasts but still you were blessed with a daughter and even without fasting, I gave birth to a son. Sushila felt hurt after hearing this.
One day, pleased with Sushila’s devotional fast to Lord Ganesha, Lord Ganesha appeared before her and said, ‘Precious gems will start flowing from the mouth of your daughter and soon a son who is a scholar will be born from my womb.’ This happened by the grace of Lord Ganesha but after some time Dharamketu died.
When this happened, Chanchala took control of all the money and threw Sushila out. But by the grace of Lord Ganesha, Sushila became richer than Chanchala in a short time, seeing this Chanchala became jealous of her. Once when Sushila’s daughter was filling water from the well, Chanchala pushed her.
But by the grace of Shri Ganesh she was saved. Seeing this, Chanchala had a change of heart and she went to Sushila and apologized for her actions. On Sushila’s insistence, Chanchala also started fasting for Lord Shri Ganesh. By doing this, love and mutual harmony started increasing between Sushila and Chanchala.
