PM Kisan: PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana comes as a big financial relief for crores of farmers of the country. Last month, i.e. in March 2026, the 22nd installment successfully reached the bank accounts of the farmers. Now naturally every beneficiary is eagerly waiting for the 23rd installment. But, this time the path of the next installment is not so easy. The government has made a major change in the rules of the scheme, which can have a direct impact on your pocket. If you also get assistance of Rs 6000 annually under this scheme, then it is very important for you to know that without a special card, Rs 2000 of your next installment may get stuck in the middle.
What are the rules for the farmers of these 14 states?
To bring transparency in PM Kisan Yojana and to make money reach the right people, the Central Government has made it mandatory to make ‘Farmer Registry’ i.e. Farmer ID. At present this rule has been strictly implemented in 14 states of the country. If you are a resident of Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Assam, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu or Telangana, then you should get your Kisan ID made without any delay. This has become mandatory for new registrations from the beginning of 2026. Old farmers will also have to complete this process to get their next installments smoothly.
What is Farmer ID?
The main objective of the government is to curb fake beneficiaries. Unique Farmer ID is actually a digital identity card. In this, complete information about your farming land, crop details, use of fertilizers, animal husbandry and income is safely recorded.
After making this ID, you will not have to submit documents again and again in government offices to avail the benefits of many government schemes. From getting timely fertilizer and seed subsidy to easily availing crop insurance claims, this digital card will help you everywhere.
How to make Farmer ID card?
The process of making farmer ID is completely online. For this, the farmer will have to register by visiting ‘AgriStack’ or the official portal of the Agriculture Department of his state. In this process, your Aadhar card, current mobile number linked to Aadhar and land documents (Khasra or Jamabandi) will be required. Along with this, it is also mandatory to complete e-KYC.
When will the 23rd installment come?
Talking about the 23rd installment, this scheme benefits the farmers every four months. The 21st installment was released in November 2025 and the 22nd installment in March 2026. According to this cycle, there is every possibility that the 23rd installment will arrive in the accounts of farmers around June or July 2026.
