New Delhi: Rashid Khan is leading the Gujarat Titans (GT) in their IPL 2026 clash against the Rajasthan Royals (RR) at the Narendra Modi Stadium on Saturday, April 4. Fans were left surprised when Rashid walked out for the toss along with the RR captain Riyan Parag.
Rashid revealed at the toss that Shubman Gill is not playing due to an injury. Rashid led Afghanistan in the T20 World Cup 2026, but was removed from the captaincy after the tournament, with Ibrahim Zadran taking charge.

Shubman Gill is not playing in the IPL 2026 clash against the Rajasthan Royals due to muscle spasm. Stand-in captain Rashid Khan said that hopefully he’ll be back soon.
“Well, we wanted to bowl first as well. Fresh wicket and I feel like there will be some help for the bowlers initially, but we are quite happy with the toss so far. Gill has got bit of a muscle spasm, hopefully he will be back soon,” Rashid said at the toss.
