In a tragic accident, 9 people died when their car fell into a well in Shivaji Nagar of Dindori area of Nashik district of Maharashtra. Expressing grief over the incident, State Minister Girish Mahajan said that the children were returning from a school program at night. There were 6 children, 2 women and a driver in the car. Late at night the vehicle suddenly fell into a well, causing the car to sink into the water and all nine occupants lost their lives. He raised questions as to how there could be a well in the middle of the road and termed it as gross negligence on the part of the officials. Orders have been given to investigate the incident, and the administration has also announced an assistance amount of Rs 5 lakh to the families of the deceased.
