New Delhi: Punjab Kings (PBKS) produced a sensational all-round performance to thrash Chennai Super Kings (CSK) by 5 wickets in their Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 clash on Friday. By virtue of this victory, PBKS registered their second consecutive win this edition while CSK suffered their second consecutive loss.
This was the 6th consecutive loss for CSK at home in the IPL and also the 7th win PBKS registered against the Super Kings in IPL since 2022. Meanwhile led by skipper Shreyas Iyer, Punjab Kings completed a historic chase of 210 runs with 5 wickets and 6 balls to spare with the skipper slamming a half-ton in just 26 balls.
Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran Singh gave the visiting side a solid start as the former slammed 39 runs in just 11 balls studded with 4 massive sixes and 3 boundaries to wreck havoc on the CSK bowlers. Prabhsimran, on the other hand, scored careful 43 off 34 balls including 6 fours and a lone six.
The star of the last game, Cooper Connolly, also contributed in the chase with 36 runs off 22 balls while Shashank Singh did the rest with 6-ball 14. For the Super Kings, Matt Henry and Anshul Kamboj claimed two wickets apiece.
