Air fuel prices increased by 115%

On one hand, while flights are starting, there is also news of air travel becoming expensive. There has been a huge jump in the prices of airplane fuel (ATF). On April 1, the price of ATF in Delhi was recorded at ₹2,07,341 per kilolitre, while in March it was ₹96,638. That means the price has more than doubled. Experts say that its effect will also be visible on ticket prices. After the war in West Asia intensified, fuel prices are skyrocketing in the international market. Overall an increase of 115% has been recorded. This is the first time that the price of aviation fuel has crossed Rs 2 lakh per kilolitre.

After the rise in crude oil prices in the global market, the prices of aviation fuel have reached record levels. Fuel prices have increased by about 115% for domestic flights and by about 107% for international flights. The central government had already lifted the ban on domestic air ticket prices. This means that now airline companies can decide the fare as per their wish.
