Yuzvendra Chahal became the target of a viral AI-generated deepfake video that falsely depicted him in a compromising situation. The clip caused massive outrage on social media, prompting platform X to remove it. The incident underscores rising concerns about AI-driven misinformation and reputational harm.
Punjab Kings (PBKS) Yuzvendra Chahal became the latest target of an AI-generated Deepfake video ahead of the team’s IPL 2026 clash against Chennai Super Kings at the Chepauk Stadium or MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Saturday, April 3.
Chahal has become the latest victim of the false video, which falsely showed him in a compromising situation with two women. Since the AI has become increasingly sophisticated, with the internet and social media platforms making it easy to manipulate videos and false content can spread rapidly, which can eventually lead to serious reputational damage.
In recent times, AI-generated and deepfakes have increasingly targeted public figures, raising concerns about misinformation, cyberbullying, and the need for stricter laws and regulations to protect reputations and prevent misuse.

Chahal’s Fake AI-Generated Video
As Yuzvendra Chahal prepares to take on Chennai Super Kings in the IPL 2026 clash in Chennai, the PBKS spinner found himself trending online, with the deepfake video spreading rapidly before confirming it was fake.
In a video that went viral, Chahal was seen with two women, one in a comprising situation, in what appeared to be a compromising situation, but it was later confirmed to be a fake AI-generated clip. The stadium setting shown in the video was entirely fabricated, adding to the deception.

Yuzvendra Chahal was married to Dhanashree Varma in December 2020, and their marriage lasted for four years before the couple officially divorced in March 2025.
Thereafter, Chahal was reportedly dating radio jockey and social media personality RJ Mahvash, with the pair often spotted together amid ongoing speculation, though neither has officially confirmed their relationship status. However, the two unfollowed each other on social media, which has reignited speculation about their current status.
X Removed Fake Chahal’s AI Video
The fake AI-generated video of Yuzvendra Chahal with two women sparked outrage on social media, with many demanding action against the user for spreading false content and causing reputational harm.
After a massive outrage over the AI video of the Punjab Kings spinner, X took action by immediately taking down the clip, removing the false content from the platform, following widespread public backlash.
“Due to local regulations, this content is restricted on X,” the platform stated.

Yuzvendra Chahal has not been part of India’s white-ball setup since his last appearance in a T20I against the West Indies in 2023. Chahal was part of the India squad that won the T20 World Cup in 2024, but didn’t get a single game.
The veteran spinner was the joint-second highest wicket-taker for Punjab Kings in the IPL 2025, with 16 wickets, including two four-wicket hauls, at an average of 26.87 and an economy rate of 9.55 in 14 matches. Chahal represents PBKS for the second consecutive season after he was retained by the franchise for INR 18 crore.
