Ayodhya News: After consulting the doctor on phone, the staff did the delivery, result – death of both mother and newborn. Ayodhya Hospital Sealed After Mother And Newborn Die In Phone Guided Delivery

A 32-year-old woman and her newborn died due to medical negligence in a private hospital in Ayodhya. It is alleged that the clumsy staff got the delivery done after asking the doctor over the phone. The health department has sealed the hospital and started investigation.

A shocking case of medical negligence has come to light from Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh. A 32-year-old woman and her newborn child lost their lives in a private hospital here. It is alleged that the ‘clumsy staff’ of the hospital got the delivery done after taking instructions from the doctor over phone. The incident took place on Tuesday at Maa Parameshwari Devi Memorial Hospital. By Thursday, the health department sealed the hospital and started a detailed investigation into the matter.

Suresh Yadav, husband of the deceased woman Soni Yadav, told that he is a resident of Beniganj. He admitted his wife to the hospital when she had labor pains. He claims that Dr. Anjali Srivastava had initially assured that everything was fine. But, when the critical time of delivery came, the doctor was not present there. The family alleges that a hospital staff carried out the entire procedure by consulting the doctor over the phone.

Suresh Yadav alleged, “After about half an hour, the staff handed over the baby to us and said that he was not breathing. When we took the newborn to a nearby doctor, he was declared dead. On returning, we were told that my wife’s condition had deteriorated. She was taken to another hospital, where she was also declared dead.”

A health department team led by Additional Chief Medical Officer (ACMO) Dr Ashutosh Srivastava inspected the hospital and found dangerous lapses there. No qualified doctor or trained medical staff was present during the investigation. Instead, a man named Mahesh Singh was looking after the work, who identified himself as the manager of the hospital.

“Three more women were admitted there who had undergone caesarean operation. Their care was also left to the manager,” the ACMO said. “The hospital has been sealed and the admitted patients have been shifted to the District Women’s Hospital. Further investigation is underway, and if negligence is proven, an FIR will be lodged,” the ACMO said. He also told that the doctor is currently absconding.
