Class 9 Girl Gives Birth in School Toilet: A Class 9 student of Government Residential School in Yadgir district of Karnataka gave birth to a child in a school toilet. The police have registered a POCSO case and started investigation and the school staff has been suspended.

At a government residential school in Shahapur taluk, a 9th grade student gave birth to a child in the toilet at around 2 pm on Wednesday (27 August). According to the information, the student was pregnant for the last nine months and was sexually abused. However, initially he refused to name any accused and said that he suddenly had stomach ache and gave birth to a child in the toilet.
Classies informed the school administration about the incident
The case was revealed when the student’s friends saw her in childbirth and immediately informed the school administration. After this, the student and the newborn were rushed to the hospital, where the situation of both is said to be stable. The police investigation has identified the 28 -year -old youth accused. A case has been registered against him under the POCSO Act. Along with this, a case has also been registered against four more people, school principal, hostel warden, staff nurse and victim’s brother as they did not report the pregnancy of the student to the officials on time.

The Karnataka Residential Educational Institutes Association (KREIS) has suspended four employees, principals, warden and suspended due to this negligence. Officials have made it clear that strict action will be taken against more responsible people after the medical report.
What did the officials say on this matter?
While issuing a joint statement, Yaadagir’s Deputy Commissioner Harshal Bhoyar and SP Prithvi Shankar said, “We will not save any guilty. After the medical report, it will be decided where the mistake is made and on which action is to be taken. To prevent such incidents from further, strict arrangements will be made for monitoring and medical checkups.”
Child Rights Commission’s big charge
Shashidhar Kosumbe, a member of the Karnataka Child Rights Commission, said that the authorities should have been cautious at the time of physical changes in the student. He said, “Medical examination is mandatory every month, but the Social Welfare Department has completely failed. Now action on it is necessary so that there is no such incident with any other student.”
