The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting announced the recipients of the 72nd National Film Awards at the National Media Centre in New Delhi on Friday. The prestigious honours commemorated excellence in Indian cinema across feature films, non-feature films and writing on cinema. Widely regarded as the country’s highest recognition in Indian cinema, this year’s awards considered films certified by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) between January 1 and December 31, 2024.
Yami Gautam bagged the Best Actress award for her performance in Article 370, while Kartik Aaryan and Mammootty shared the Best Actor honour for Chandu Champion and Bramayugam, respectively.
