Operation Sindoor: Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi on Saturday stressed the important role of citizens in national security, saying that during Operation Sindoor, more than 72000 NCC (National Cadet Corps) cadets worked for civil protection measures. He led the work done to help the people.
National security is not only the work of soldiers
General Dwivedi said that national security is not just the work of soldiers. He gave the example of Ukraine. Here, common citizens take responsibility for protecting their country. Addressing the Georgian centenary celebrations, the army chief said,
Citizens are the first to give information to soldiers. More than 72000 NCC cadets led all necessary assistance systems during Operation Sindoor. He voluntarily worked for civil security measures. Ukraine has shown the world what happens when ordinary citizens take responsibility for protecting their country. Their role, gathering intelligence information, logistics and resistance have proved that national security is not just the work of soldiers, it is all of all.
Army contributing to nation-building
The army chief further stated that the Army is actively involved in the initiatives of nation-building. This includes water conservation projects, soil conservation, plantation, solar power projects and wildlife conservation. General Dwivedi confirmed the army’s commitment to ex -servicemen, brave women and their families.
He said, “Army is also contributing on a large scale in nation-building. We are not only protecting the border states, but we also bring prosperity in far-flung areas. Civil administration is associated with administration and participates in relief work in a situation like disaster. Environmental reasons have been adopted so that our country can become a better place to live for generations to come. “
