Known as @mummyweightlifter on Instagram, her powerful gym videos have made her an internet favourite and now, people are equally impressed by her diet. In a podcast with Ranveer Allahabadia, Roshni Devi shared her everyday diet, and it’s as simple as it gets. “Oats thodasa. 10 almonds, raisins. Uska juice banakarpeekarjaati hun. Inspired By Her Son:
Roshni didn’t always follow a fitness routine. Her journey into weightlifting began later in life, all thanks to her son Ajay Sangwan, who encouraged her to pick up the weights. And now, she’s inspiring millions across the country.
Dietitian Backs Her Simple Desi Plate:
Dr. Gulnaaz Shaikh, Chief Dietitian at KIMS Hospitals, called Roshni’s food choices “refreshing” and appreciated how her meals are based on Indian home cooking. “This plan, featuring dal, rice, curd, oats, almonds, moong chilla, and paneer, provides a great mix of complex carbs, protein, healthy fats, and fibre,” she explained. Dr. Shaikh highlighted how these foods help digestion, blood sugar control, and provide clean vegetarian protein to boost muscle health.

Dr. Shaikh also added a word of caution: not every diet suits every person. “It’s a good starting point for a healthy adult, but one size doesn’t fit all,” she said. “Someone with insulin resistance or thyroid issues might need more protein and fewer carbs. Those with health conditions should always consult a dietitian first.” Dr. Shaikh concluded by saying, “The ideal diet is one that you can sustain and enjoy long-term, while feeling energetic, light, and healthy.”
