Dhurv Jurel Cenury: The Indian team has been announced for the Test series against South Africa and star wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant has returned. Pant was out due to the injury suffered in England and could not take part in the last Test series against West Indies. But now he has returned and he will take over the responsibility of wicketkeeping. Due to this, Dhruv Jurel will have to sit out, who was keeping wickets in place of Pant. But Jurel has now scored a explosive century and challenged the team management as to how they can drop him from the playing 11.

Before the Test series between India-South Africa, an unofficial Test series is being played between India-A and South Africa-A. On the very first day of the second match of this series, Dhruv Jurel played such an innings, on the basis of which he presented his claim for the Test series. This innings of Jurel came at a time when the condition of the Indian team was very bad and its top order star batsmen had returned to the pavilion.

Jurel’s strong century, returned not out

This match started from Thursday 6th November and India A came to bat first. But the test team members like KL Rahul, Sai Sudarshan, captain Rishabh Pant and Devdutt Padikkal playing in this match failed and Team India lost its 7 wickets for only 126 runs. In a situation where it seemed difficult for the team to score even 150 runs, Jurel, along with the lower order, took the team to a decent score. Jurel along with Kuldeep Yadav added 79 runs and then also completed his excellent century.

India A’s innings finally ended at 255 runs but South Africa A bowlers could not dismiss Dhruv Jurel. The young wicketkeeper-batsman returned unbeaten after playing an excellent inning of 132 runs, which included 12 fours and 4 sixes. This innings of Jurel has come just before the start of the Test series, in which he will be playing the role of back-up wicketkeeper of Team India.

Will Gill-Gambhir still be thrown out?

But with his batting, this 24-year-old wicketkeeper-batsman has challenged coach Gautam Gambhir and captain Shubman Gill as to how they will remove a player who is in such excellent form. Jurel had strengthened his claim by scoring a century and a half-century in the Test series against West Indies. Now with the arrival of Pant, he will no longer be a wicketkeeper but Team India may have the option of fielding him in the role of number-5 or number-6. However, for this he may have to oust Nitish Kumar Reddy. Now the question is whether Jurrell will be given a chance?
