In Zaidpur, Barabanki, a married woman has filed a complaint of dowry harassment just 62 days after her marriage. In which she has alleged that her husband and in-laws tortured her by locking her in a room.
Gave triple talaq in the presence of parents. After receiving the complaint, the police have registered the case and started further investigation.
what happened the whole matter
This incident is of Fatima Khan, a resident of Nanpajan Mohalla of Zaidpur police station area. Fatima was married to Mohammad Faiz on 27 October. Initially everything was normal but not even a month had passed since the marriage. Her husband, mother-in-law Farida and father-in-law Mohammad Shakeel together started pressurizing and harassing her. Fatima told that her in-laws locked her in the room. They were beaten and even food and drink were restricted.
Fatima’s claim
According to Fatima, this pressure was regarding dowry. When he talked to his maternal side about this and asked for help. Her in-laws threatened her to marry again and not care about the law. Fatima also told the police that despite the misbehavior, the accused kept saying that four marriages were allowed and the law could not do anything.
Process of giving triple talaq
The victim said in her complaint that she was called to Zaidpur on 29th December. At that time, Fatima’s parents, in-laws, marriage arranger and their family members were present. The husband pronounced triple talaq with the consent of the mother-in-law and father-in-law. Fatima says that this triple talaq is completely illegal, but the accused showed no fear of the law.
Police took cognizance
Zaidpur police station has registered a case on the basis of the complaint of the victim. Police are investigating the entire matter and statements of the accused are being recorded. Police officials have said that soon the family side will also be interrogated and action will be taken after investigating all the aspects.
