Another hat-trick has been seen in the second round of Ranji Trophy 2025-26 season. On the first day of the second round, Services spinners Arjun Sharma and Mohit Jangra had achieved the feat of taking 3 wickets in 3 balls. Meanwhile, on the second day, Tamil Nadu’s 6 feet 4 inches fast bowler Gurjapneet Singh attracted everyone’s attention by taking a hat-trick. Gurjapneet Singh did this feat against the Nagaland team. The special thing was that he took a hat-trick in his 8th first class match itself.

Gurjapaneet Singh bowled brilliantly in this match and troubled Nagaland’s batting in the beginning itself. In response to the 512 runs scored by Tamil Nadu in the first innings, Nagaland lost 4 wickets for 31 runs. These four wickets were taken by Gurjapneet Singh, which also included a hat-trick. He took 3 wickets in 3 balls in the sixth over of the innings. During this time he made Sedjali Rupero, Hem Chhetri and Rongsen Jonathan his victims.
He achieved his first success by dismissing Sedeshali Rupero on the fourth ball of the sixth over of Nagaland’s innings. He bowled out Sedezhali Rupero. On the very next ball, Gurjapaneet made Hem Chhetri his victim. He was out on the very first ball without opening the account. After this he completed his hat-trick by dismissing Rongsen Jonathan. With this, he became the first bowler to take a Ranji hat-trick for Tamil Nadu after 2018. Before him, M Mohammed had done this against Madhya Pradesh in 2018.

Recently an ODI series was played between India A and Australia A. Gurjapneet Singh was a part of the Indian team in this series. During this period he also got to play 2 matches. He took 1-1 wicket in both these matches. At the same time, he was a part of CSK team in IPL 2025. But he was out of the season due to injury.
