Bengaluru Metro commuters have something to look forward to this Kannada Rajyotsava. The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) is all set to introduce the fifth train on the Yellow Line starting November 1, making travel faster and more convenient between RV Road and Bommasandra.
Improved Frequency for Daily Commuters
Currently, the Yellow Line operates with four trains running at an interval of 19 minutes. With the addition of the fifth train, this gap will be reduced to 15 minutes, significantly improving service frequency and reducing waiting time for passengers.
According to BMRCL officials, the new train has passed all safety and technical checks and is ready for public service. The final phase of technical trials is nearing completion, and authorities have confirmed that operations will officially begin on November 1.
Milestone Moment for the Yellow Line
The Yellow Line, connecting RV Road to Bommasandra, was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on August 10, 2025. Initially, the route started with only three trains that operated with a 25-minute interval. A fourth train was added on September 10, bringing the frequency down to 19 minutes.
Now, with the fifth train joining the fleet, the line will operate at 15-minute intervals-providing smoother, faster, and more reliable connectivity to thousands of daily commuters across South Bengaluru.
A Boost for Kannada Rajyotsava
The launch comes as a timely gift for the city’s residents during Karnataka Rajyotsava celebrations, marking the state’s formation day. Commuters can expect shorter waiting times, improved efficiency, and a better overall travel experience on one of Bengaluru’s busiest metro corridors.
As the metro network continues to expand, this move reinforces BMRCL’s commitment to enhancing public transport convenience and reducing road congestion across the city.
