TVS recently launched the Ntorq 150 scooter in India. The Ntorq 150 has been launched in two variants with prices starting at Rs 1.19 lakh ex-showroom for the base variant.
At this price point, the TVS scooter undercuts its competitors like the Hero Xoom 160 and the Yamaha Aerox 155 by a significant margin. However, the Ntorq 150 is not just appealing due to the price tag. It also offers several segment-first and otherwise premium features that make its value proposition strong when compared to its rivals. Here are five such interesting features from the TVS Ntorq 150’s arsenal.
1. Adjustable Brake Levers:
The Ntorq 150 offers adjustable brake levers right from the base variant. These types of brake levers offer the option to adjust the lever’s reach according to a rider’s preference. Traditionally considered to be equipment required only on sports motorcycles, TVS has now brought it to the performance-oriented Ntorq 150. This further hints towards the scooter’s intention to be a sporty commuter.
2. Single-Channel ABS:
For a scooter that can do 0-60 kmph in 6.3 seconds, coming to a confident stop is important. The TVS Ntorq is well-equipped in that manner as it offers single-channel ABS with the front disc brake from its base variant.
3. Traction Control:
While offering the single-channel ABS can be considered a standard practice for this segment, the Ntorq 150 also provides the additional safety net of a traction control system. It ensures that the sporty scooter stays glued to the road under different conditions.
4. Split LCD-TFT Display:
While the top variant features a 5-inch TFT rider display, the base variant of the Ntorq 150 is also well-equipped. It gets a split LCD-TFT configuration that offers a host of rider information. The console also supports Bluetooth connectivity and a host of SmartXonnect connected features.
5. Stealth Silver Colour Option:
The Ntorq 150 offers several colour schemes that look attractive, including the Racing Red, Nitro Green and the Turbo Blue shades. However, the Stealth Silver colour option is only available in the base variant of the Ntorq 150. This increases the appeal for the base variant as the silver colour scheme is more subtle and will appeal to a wider set of audience.
With competition in the 150cc segment of sporty scooters now getting heated with these new launches, the Ntorq 150 has been positioned as a value-for-money option that offers similar performance to its rivals but at a price point that is more pocket-friendly.
