Ken River in Panna National Park
Khajuraho is known all over the world from historical perspective. Just 31 kilometers away from this city is Panna National Park which is situated on the banks of Ken River. This national park is also known for tigers. Apart from animals, there are many beautiful waterfalls in this park. In the year 1981, it was declared as National Wild Sanctuary and its area is about 542 square kilometers. The biggest attraction point here is the Ken River. It is believed that the Pandavas spent most of their exile in this forest area.
Banjar River in Kanha National Park
The main attraction of the country’s most popular National Park, Kanha, is the Banjar River present here. The river is considered the lifeline of Kanha Tiger Reserve. It is divided into two parts because of the river. This is the main source of water on the west border of the park and due to this the animals here flourish. It was declared a National Park on 1 June 1955 and a Tiger Reserve in 1973. Kanha National Park is spread over about 940 square kilometers. This park has a connection with clay soil and hence it was named Kanha. Actually the word Kanha is derived from Kanhar which the local people call smooth soil in simple language.
Periyar National Park, Kerala
This national park itself is named after the Periyar River. The national park is a Tiger and Elephant Reserve Park located in Idukki district of Kerala. Its area is about 925 square kilometers and it was established in 1982. Apart from Periyar River, the artificial lake built here is also a point of attraction. This reserve park is also home to many other animals and apart from eco tourism, it is also liked for boat safari.
Banas River in Ranthambore National Park
A river named Banas flows near Ranthambore National Park, which is also called seasonal river. It is considered a lifeline for its dry areas. It is a tributary of Chambal and joins Chambal near Rameshwar Ghat in Sawai Madhopur. It is also called the hope of the forest which originates from the hills of Khamnor in Rajsamand district of Rajasthan. Ranthambore National Park is just 130 kilometers away from Jaipur. Both gypsy and canter safari can be enjoyed in this national park famous for wildlife.
Nagarhole National Park situated near Kabini River
Nagarhole National Park present in Mysore and Kodagu districts of Karnataka is situated on the banks of Kabini River. Apart from land safari, boating can also be done here. People come from far and wide to see the Asian elephants here. Animals drink water on the banks of this river and this view looks very spectacular.
