5 New Renault SUVs Launching Soon: Duster Hybrid To Bridger

The French automaker Renault, for a long time in India, was surviving with three models. However, the company is now changing things around. It has launched the new-generation Duster and has five more SUVs in the pipeline. So, if you are also someone who likes Renault and wants to know which five SUVs are coming to India from Renault, here are their details.

Renault Duster Hybrid – Launch on October 17

The first launch that we will be seeing from Renault India will be the launch of the new Duster Strong Hybrid E-Tech 160 on October 17, 2026. The SUV will get a 1.8-litre naturally aspirated four-cylinder petrol engine paired with two electric motors and a 1.4 kWh battery pack. Together, this powertrain will make 160 bhp and 172 Nm of torque.

Renault has also confirmed an ARAI-certified mileage of 29 kmpl, which is more than that of the other strong hybrid SUVs in the market. What is interesting is that the Duster Hybrid will use a dedicated automatic transmission with eight fixed ratios instead of the e-CVT gearbox offered by its key rivals.

Renault has also claimed that up to 80 per cent of urban driving can take place in electric mode. The SUV will also offer a ground clearance of 212 mm and a boot capacity of 518 litres, along with premium features offered in the standard model. Renault has also reopened bookings for the hybrid Duster, and its final price will be announced at launch on October 17.

Renault Boreal – New Flagship Premium SUV

The next SUV that is in the pipeline is the Boreal 7-seater SUV. It is expected to make its debut by the end of this year or by early next year. The Boreal, for those who may not be aware, is based on the Dacia Bigster, and it is a larger SUV that will measure over 4.6 metres in length and offer a 2.7-metre wheelbase.

The international-spec model gets a tall bonnet, a body-coloured grille, LED lighting, 19-inch alloy wheels, a panoramic sunroof and roof rails. On the inside, the Boreal gets two 10-inch displays, 48-colour ambient lighting, a driver’s seat with a massage function, front seat memory and a refrigerated centre console. It also gets a 586-litre boot, which will be expandable to 1,770 litres by folding the second row.

Other highlights include a Harman Kardon audio system and Level 2 ADAS with 24 features. Internationally, it is offered with a 1.3-litre turbo-petrol engine that makes up to 158 bhp and 270 Nm. It will come paired with a dual-clutch transmission. Most likely, in India, it will also be offered with the 1.8-litre strong hybrid powertrain, as in the Duster.

Renault Kiger – Underbody CNG Technology

Apart from the larger SUVs, Renault is also expected to update its popular sub-compact SUV, Kiger, with its new RGEP platform. This platform was showcased at the company’s FutuReady event in March 2026. The new architecture is designed to support different body styles and powertrains.

What is more important is that it will help the company position CNG cylinders under the vehicle floor instead of using a large cylinder that occupies the boot. The upcoming Kiger is expected to get a factory-integrated dual-cylinder CNG setup. This will improve luggage space compared to the current dealer-level CNG conversion.

Renault is also expected to offer the 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine with CNG technology. This will make the Kiger an interesting option for buyers who want better performance alongside lower running costs. However, the turbo-CNG combination and a possible CNG-automatic option will be confirmed in the coming weeks.

Renault Bridger – New Sub-4-Metre SUV

Renault has also unveiled the Bridger concept, which will help it enter India’s highly competitive sub-four-metre SUV segment. The production version will be positioned between the Kiger and Duster, and it is expected to rival models such as the Kia Sonet, Hyundai Venue and Skoda Kylaq.

The SUV is being developed by Renault India’s engineering and R&D team. It will also be manufactured in India for export to international markets. The Bridger concept gets a boxy design with an upright bonnet, squared wheel arches, rectangular headlamps, vertically stacked LED tail lamps and a tailgate-mounted spare wheel.

It has a concept ground clearance of 200 mm, and Renault is aiming to offer boot space of close to 400 litres. The production version is expected to make its debut in 2027. Renault is also developing the Bridger as a multi-energy vehicle, with petrol, hybrid and electric powertrains planned. However, its final engine options, features and pricing are yet to be announced.

Renault Bridger EV – First Electric SUV for India

The electric version of the Bridger is expected to become Renault’s first electric vehicle in the Indian market. It will share its basic design and architecture with the petrol-powered Bridger. However, EV-specific changes are expected around the grille, front nose and alloy wheels. Renault has not yet revealed the final specifications of the electric SUV.

As per current expectations, the Bridger EV could be offered with 35 kWh and 55 kWh battery packs. The larger battery could offer a real-world range of over 400 km, although these figures are yet to be confirmed. The Bridger EV is expected to launch around 2028, and Nissan will also introduce its own version later, with different exterior styling.
