What are the 5 days of Diwali?

Dhanteras:- Diwali festival starts with Dhanteras, which is also called Dhantrayodashi. On this day Lord Dhanvantari, Kuber and Lakshmi are worshiped and people buy utensils, metals and jewellery.

Narak Chaturdashi (Chhoti Diwali):- The festival of Chhoti Diwali is celebrated on the next day of Dhanteras. On this day, the demon Narakasura was killed by Lord Krishna, which is considered a symbol of the victory of good over evil.

Diwali (Big Diwali):- The festival of Diwali is celebrated on the day of Kartik Amavasya and lamps are lit along with the worship of Goddess Lakshmi and Ganesh. This is the main day of Diwali.

Govardhan Puja:- This is the fourth day of the five-day festival of lights. This day commemorates the lifting of Govardhan Mountain by Lord Krishna, which is also known as Annakoot.

Bhai Dooj:- Bhai Dooj, the last day of the five-day festival, is dedicated to the brother-sister relationship, in which brothers visit their sisters’ homes and have a meal and the sister prays for the brother’s long life.
