However, no written complaint against the accused has been received yet. As the case increased, the Taliban stopped the person from taking the girl home. Said that the girl can go to her husband’s house at the age of 9.

The warrant has been left against two Taliban leaders

Those leaders have been accused of crime against humanity for misbehaving with women and girls. The court said that Habatullah Akhundzada and Chief Justice Abdul Hakim Haqqani are responsible for the atrocities of women and girls in Afghanistan.

What does the law say?

Currently there is no minimum legal age for girls’ marriage in Afghanistan. The Taliban government has not restored the previous law, in which the legal age of girls’ marriage is 16 years. Instead, marriage in Afghanistan is taking place according to Islamic law.
