New Delhi: Gujarat Giants (GG) all-rounder Sophie Devine went berserk as she hammered a record 32 runs off an over against Sneh Rana during her side’s clash against Delhi Capitals (DC) in the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2026 on Sunday. Devine smashed two fours and four sixes in the over to create the record for most runs in an over by any batter in the WPL.
Devine, who was roped in by the Giants for Rs 2 crore in the WPL 2026 auction last year, opened the innings for her side with Beth Mooney and got them off to a flyer after DC won the toss and opted to bowl first in the game. Devine went after the DC bowlers from the word go and took them to the cleaners as she raced to her fifty off just 25 balls.
She completed her fifty with a six against Rana on the fourth ball of the sixth over of the Giants’ innings. Devine went all guns blazing against the DC spinner, smoking her for two fours and four sixes in the over to get 32 runs from it. She started the over with back-to-back fours before smashing four sixes.
