Garuda Purana is one of the major 18 Mahapuranas of Hinduism, which explains many important topics related to life, death, karma and moksha. The text is based on a dialogue between Lord Vishnu and his vehicle Garuda and describes in detail the consequences of good and bad deeds.
It states that a person who does good deeds gets happiness and peace, while those who do bad deeds suffer even after death.

Cow slaughter
Cow is considered extremely sacred in Hindu religion. That is why cow slaughter is considered the biggest sin. According to Garuda Purana, a person who performs such deeds has to face sufferings after death and the soul does not find peace for a long time.
feticide
In Garuda Purana, infanticide is also counted among serious sins. A person who does this has to suffer extremely difficult punishment after death. The effect of this sin troubles the soul for a long time and attaining salvation becomes difficult.
