4.2m to 4.5m SUV Sales June 2026 – Victoris, Seltos, Vitara, Hyryder, Creta, Sierra, Curvv, Elevate

After taking a look at the   let us now take a look at the 4.2m to 4.5m SUV segment, which has recorded total sales of 60,252 units in June 2026, registering 40.0% YoY growth over 43,036 units sold in June last year. However, compared to May 2026, segment volumes declined 14.94%, with sales dropping from 70,836 units.

Maruti Victoris took the top spot for first time with 10,035 units, commanding a 16.66% market share in June. Kia Seltos followed closely in second with 9,654 units, registering an impressive 84.77% YoY growth. Maruti Grand Vitara ranked third with 9,092 units, up 33.16%, while Toyota HyRyder was just behind at 9,014 units, posting 20.80% YoY growth.

Hyundai Creta / Creta EV slipped to fifth position with 7,168 units, down 54.59% YoY and 52.95% MoM. Unlike a demand-led slowdown, Hyundai has clarified that Creta’s lower volumes were due to a fire at one of its suppliers that temporarily affected production. The company has confirmed that manufacturing has now returned to normal, indicating sales should recover in the coming months.

Tata Sierra secured sixth place with 6,392 units. While it has established a respectable presence since launch, sales were slightly lower than the 6,606 units recorded in May. Recently Tata Motors announced the launch of Sierra Jubilee Edition as well as of Sierra EV, which is expected to boost sales in coming months.

Further down the order, Tata Curvv / EV sold 1,753 units, followed by Honda Elevate (1,561), Volkswagen Taigun (1,182), Mahindra BE 6 (1,150), MG ZS EV (1,058) and Renault Duster (1,011). Skoda Kushaq recorded 992 units, while Citroen C3 Aircross (71 units), MG Astor (60 units), Mahindra XUV400 (31 units) and Citroen Basalt (28 units) rounded off the list. Competition is set to increase with the arrival of at a starting price of Rs 10.49 lakh, ex-sh.

For the April-June 2026 period, the segment recorded total sales of 2,05,186 units, registering a strong 60.23% YoY growth over 1,28,059 units sold in Q2 2025. Despite its weak June performance, Hyundai Creta / EV remained the bestselling SUV of the quarter with 37,694 units and an 18.37% market share, although volumes were down 20.91% YoY.

Maruti Victoris secured second place with 34,589 units, followed by Kia Seltos at 30,817 units (+76.68%). Toyota HyRyder (26,793 units) narrowly edged Maruti Grand Vitara (26,176 units) for fourth place, with both SUVs posting more than 36% YoY growth.

Tata Sierra accumulated 20,314 units during the quarter, comfortably establishing itself among the segment leaders. Tata Curvv / EV recorded 4,836 units, while Renault Duster managed 4,637 units, highlighting the gap between expectations and actual demand for Renault’s comeback SUV. Skoda Kushaq registered 4,153 units, Volkswagen Taigun sold 4,006 units, Honda Elevate recorded 3,821 units, MG ZS EV posted 3,337 units, while Mahindra BE 6 finished the quarter with 3,222 units.
