Pakistan cricket team has created a whole drama before the T20 World Cup. There are reports that PCB is talking about boycotting the tournament. But if it takes such a decision then Pakistan may have to face a lot of side-effects. According to reports, a lawsuit of up to Rs 350 crore can be filed against Pakistan, while the ICC can take three such decisions against this team which will bring Pakistan cricket to the brink of complete ruin.
Will broadcasters drag PCB to court?
According to Pakistani media, Pakistan can still boycott the T20 World Cup and the PCB is waiting for the final decision of the government. This decision is expected to come by Monday. If Pakistan decides to withdraw from this tournament, then it may face a lawsuit of 38 million dollars i.e. approximately 350 crores. Even if Pakistan cancels the group match against India, the broadcasters can sue the PCB for compensation. Actually, there is a stake of 38 million dollars in the India-Pakistan match and if this match does not take place due to the decision of PCB, then it will be challenged in the court.
These 3 actions can also be taken against Pakistan
If Pakistan breaks the agreement to participate in the T20 World Cup, then it can be expelled from all global tournaments i.e. World Cup, Champions Trophy. Not only this, he will also have to be out of tournaments like Asia Cup. The biggest thing is that no board will give NOC to its players to play in Pakistan Super League.
Pakistan cricket team has been doing politics since Bangladesh’s exit from the T20 World Cup. PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi is continuously making statements on this matter. At the same time, former Pakistani cricketers are also advising PCB to get out of the tournament. However, seeing such strict rules and punishment of ICC, Pakistan will hardly take the step of boycotting the tournament.
