The condition is serious due to continuous rains
The situation has become serious due to continuous heavy rains in Jammu. Rescue and relief work continues after landslides on Vaishno Devi Yatra route. Meanwhile, a car was swept away in Chanini Nala in which three devotees have gone missing. Two of them are from Dholpur in Rajasthan and one from Agra. Due to rain, the road and rail connectivity of Jammu from the country has been completely cut off. The administration had banned the exit from the houses without any need after 9 pm on Tuesday night due to heavy rains warnings. All rivers like Tawi, Chenab and Ujj are flowing above the danger mark.

All schools and colleges in Jammu division closed till 27 August
A lane of the Bhagwatinagar bridge over the Tawi river collapsed, while the movement on two other bridges on this river has been stopped. Traffic on the Jammu-Pathankot National Highway was already affected by the bridge near Kathua. Now the Devika bridge near AIIMS in Vijaypur has also been damaged due to which road traffic has been completely discontinued. All schools and colleges in Jammu division will be closed on August 27 due to bad weather.
