2027 Tata Nexon EV Spied – Underbody Battery Pack, Orange Cables

Next-generation Nexon EV has been spotted on a flatbed truck, following earlier sightings of its ICE counterpart

Tata Motors’ next-generation Nexon testing programme has offered its first look at the electric version. While the prototypes  ,the latest spy shots show a heavily camouflaged Nexon EV being transported on a flatbed truck. The elevated position exposes its underbody, with a battery enclosure and orange high-voltage cables providing the clearest clues to its electric powertrain.

Battery Pack Visible Underneath

The biggest highlight of this sighting is the battery enclosure visible beneath the passenger compartment. Orange electrical cables can also be seen near the front of the enclosure, just behind the front wheel. The new body gives Tata an opportunity to improve packaging alongside any changes to battery pack, efficiency, performance and charging.

2027 Nexon gets a flatter roofline, a more upright tailgate and a less coupe-like rear profile. On this vehicle, the front doors, outside mirrors and prominent wheel arches are visible beneath the patterned wrap. Conventional pull-type door handles can also be seen. Additional fabric covers conceal the rear doors, roof and much of the tailgate, keeping the finer styling details hidden.

The more upright proportions could help improve rear-seat headroom and luggage space. In the EV, however, the final cabin layout and floor height will also depend on how the battery is accommodated. This prototype wears five-spoke wheels, unlike the  on another Nexon test vehicle in September.

With the electric version now spotted, development appears to be progressing alongside the ICE model. But before the next gen Nexon EV arrives, Tata is expected to launch the Safari EV and Aeris EV. Unconfirmed reports suggest Safari EV is due for launch next month, while Aeris EV will launch early 2027.
