Except for the new colour and a nominal price hike, the 2027 Kawasaki Vulcan S remains unchanged with the same features, cycle parts and engine
Kawasaki India has launched the 2027 Vulcan S at a sticker price of Rs 8.23 lakh (ex-showroom, India) in the country. Rolled out in a new dual-tone Metallic Carbon Gray + Metallic Bluish Green paint shade, it is around Rs 10,000 more expensive than the outgoing model which was priced at Rs 8.13 lakh (ex-showroom) and available in a single-tone Metallic Flat Spark Black colourway. The 2027 Kawasaki Vulcan S will directly rival Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 and soon-to-be-launched Honda Rebel 500 in the Indian market.
Except for the new colour and a nominal price hike, the rest of the bike remains unchanged with the same cycle parts and engine. The suspension duties are helmed by telescopic front forks and monoshock rear suspension with pre-load adjustment. The stopping power comes from disc brakes at both the ends. The 2027 Vulcan S has a saddle height of 705 mm while it tips the weighing scale at 221 kg.
A dual-channel ABS is offered as standard safety equipment. The ground clearance though is quite less at 130 mm. Sitting on a tubular diamond frame, the cruiser rides on 18-inch front and 17-inch rear wheels with 120/70 section and 160/60 section tyres, respectively. The 2027 Kawasaki Vulcan S boasts an adjustable clutch, brake levers and footpegs.
At the heart, the 2027 Vulcan S houses the same 649cc parallel-twin liquid-cooled petrol engine which develops top power of 60.2 bhp at 7500 rpm and highest torque of 62.4 Nm at 6600 rpm. The engine is paired to a 6-speed gearbox. The torque delivery has increased by 1.4 Nm as compared to the previous version. The cruiser has a fuel tank capacity of 14 litres.
As for features, the 2027 Vulcan S boasts of an analogue-style tachometer with multi-purpose LCD screen for speed, gear indicator and economical riding indicator. The cruiser is offered with a sculpted seat design and thick padding. The slim backbone-styled rear frame, under-engine muffler, long-and-low stance and foot-forward riding position are some of the characteristics of the motorcycle.
In the last few days, Kawasaki has launched several MY27 motorcycles in the Indian market. It all started with 2027 Ninja 300 in July, which was followed by Versys 650 and Ninja 500 in August. Last week, the Japanese two-wheeler brand introduced the latest version of the Versys 1100 in our country. And hence, the 2027 Vulcan S is the fifth bike to receice the MY27 update.
