New Delhi: The Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport makes a comeback for 2027, having previously teased its arrival at the start of this month. The Corvette Grand Sport is powered by General Motors’ next-generation V8 engine, the LS6. The naturally aspirated 6.7-litre V8 makes 535 bhp and 705 Nm of torque, and it will become the standard engine in the 2027 Stingray.
Chevrolet has said that the LS6 gets forged pistons and rods, revised exhaust manifolds, and a new lubrication system. It comes with a 13.0:1 compression ratio, along with a 95-mm throttle body and a “tunnel ram intake”.

The engine is mated with an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission. The Grand Sport comes standard with Magnetic Ride Control, a touring suspension, and Michelin Pilot Sport All-Season 4 tyres. The carmaker has given no performance stats for the new Corvette. Chevy will also give the car with an optional centre-exit exhaust.
The available Z52 Performance Package adds Michelin Pilot Sport 4S summer tyres, high-performance iron brakes from the Z06. The Z52 Track Pack adds carbon-ceramic brakes, a carbon-fibre splitter, dive planes, the upgraded exhaust, underbody strakes, and Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2R tyres.

Chevrolet is also launching the Grand Sport X for 2027, which comes in place of E-Ray. The GSX comes with a new LS6 engine, which Chevy mates with a front-axle electric motor and battery from the Corvette ZR1X, making 186 bhp and 196 Nm of torque. In combination, it makes 721 bhp, and that is more than the E-Ray by at least 66 bhp.
The GSX is also more powerful than the Z06, which comes with a naturally aspirated 5.5-litre V8 making 670 bhp. The X will also come representing models that come with eAWD, like the ZR1X. As standard, the GSX comes with Magnetic Ride Control, carbon-ceramic brakes, and Michelin Pilot Sport All Season 4 tyres. The Performance Pack adds Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tyres.

Chevy will also offer a Grand Sport Launch Edition, coming with Santorini Blue interior and red contrasting stitching. It will have embossed headrests, a speaker plaque and a steering wheel badge. While the brand hasn’t given any update on when the 2027 Corvette Grand Sport will hit the market, it is expected to arrive sometime in the middle of this year.
The Corvette Grand Sport comes back with delivering the Z06-type features for much less. However, the Grand Sport X has more power thna Z06, which might make for an updated version soon. Most importantly, it is a powerful hybrid, which is always a nice blend that big brands are going for.
