BMW has officially unveiled the 2026 XM, its most powerful road-going vehicle to date. Building on the foundations laid during its global debut in 2023, the updated XM not only ups the ante in performance but also takes strides in efficiency and luxury, further solidifying its status as the flagship of BMW’s M lineup.
At the heart of the 2026 BMW XM is a hybrid setup that combines a 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 with an electric motor. Together, they generate a staggering 738 hp, enabling the SUV to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.8 seconds, an impressive feat considering its hefty curb weight of 2,764 kg. The top speed stands at an electronically limited 290 km/h.
Efficiency improvements have also been a key focus. The new XM is equipped with an upgraded 11 kW onboard charger, allowing for significantly faster AC charging. A 26 kWh battery pack supports the hybrid system, offering better range and usability in electric-only mode.
BMW has added new layers of luxury and personalisation to the 2026 XM. The SUV can now be specified in an exclusive Frozen Tanzanite Blue Metallic shade from BMW Individual, paired with bold 23-inch Jet Black alloy wheels. The Welcome Light Animation feature adds a futuristic touch when entering or approaching the vehicle.
Inside the cabin, BMW offers three new bespoke interior themes. Two of these feature premium Merino leather: Night Blue with Vintage Coffee highlights and Black with Vintage Coffee accents. A third option, Silverstone with black highlights, includes an extended Merino leather package, ensuring a plush experience for occupants.
