Under CM Bal Shramik Vidya Yojana, working children are being given education and financial assistance. In the first phase, 2000 children from 20 districts have been included. Boys are getting an incentive of Rs 1000, girls Rs 1200 and Rs 6000 for passing each class.
Bareilly. On the instructions of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the Labor Department has implemented the Mukhyamantri Bal Shramik Vidya Yojana at a fast pace. The objective of this scheme is to provide education and financial support to those children who, due to family compulsion, work in dhabas, hotels, factories or other places.
In the first phase of the scheme, 20 districts of the state have been selected, which includes Bareilly. A target has been set to provide benefits to 100 children in each district. According to Assistant Labor Commissioner Bal Govind, so far 500 children have benefited from this scheme in Bareilly. He says that the objective of the scheme is that no child should work under compulsion and can study in a safe environment.
First help will be given to those children who do not have family support.
The government has set nine priority categories for the selection of children. First priority will be given to those children who do not have both parents and the entire income of the family depends on them. These categories include children who:
- whose father has passed away
- whose parents are permanently disabled
- Parents suffering from serious illness
- Children of widowed or divorced mothers
- whose mother has passed away
- children from landless families
Only those children who have been found working in the Labor Department survey will be included in all categories.
Benefit in 20 districts in the first phase, total target of 2000 children
The 20 districts of Uttar Pradesh that have been selected in the first phase include Agra, Prayagraj, Kanpur Nagar, Ballia, Lucknow, Barabanki, Bareilly, Badaun, Ghaziabad, Gorakhpur, Gonda, Shravasti, Balrampur, Bahraich, Moradabad, Sonbhadra, Mirzapur, Jaunpur, Varanasi and Ghazipur.
In these districts, 100 children per district are being provided assistance. In this way, the target is to provide benefits to a total of 2000 children in the first phase. Benefits being given to children:
- Child: Rs 1000 per month
- Girl child: Rs 1200 per month
- On passing class 8, 9 and 10: Rs 6000 incentive on each class
If the child continues to study, this support will continue to be received regularly.
