On July 8, that is, two days before the main day of the third Test match, the England skipper Ben Stokes, along with England head coach brendon McCullam reported had a meeting with the officials of the Lord’s Cricket Ground. According to the report of Mail Sport, the meeting went on for at least 20 minutes and it included Lord’s head groundsman Karl McDermott, the MCC’s director of cricket operations Rob Lynch, and England selector Luke Wright.
Notably, Ben Stokes had some problems with the Edgbaston pitch, calling it a subcontinent one. And in the wake of the situation, the team sitting with Lord’s official has raised eyebrows.
Interestingly, Lynch—who once played alongside McCullum in New Zealand—reportedly assured that the Lord’s surface would align with England’s expectations, possibly giving them a strategic edge.

Pitch condition at Lord’s on Day 1
Former Indian cricketer Deep Dasgupta commented that there’s a bit of lively grass on the pitch. The pacers might get help from the slope of the ground, if not from the grass itself. The pitch doesnt look too tough to bat on but only after the first session, Deep further added that it is actually a better pitch than the in previous two Tests.
