Madhya Pradesh government and administration has made helmet mandatory for pillion riders on two-wheelers from today, November 6. Strict legal action will be taken against anyone who ignores the rules.
Bhopal. There is still a rule in Madhya Pradesh that one cannot get petrol without a helmet. But the state government and administration have taken a strict stance regarding road safety and have given another decision. According to which, it is mandatory for the pillion rider on two-wheelers in Bhopal and Indore to wear a helmet. The police will also take strict action against anyone who violates this.
Only children below 4 years will be exempted
Actually, this order issued by the Planetary Ministry of Madhya Pradesh Government was issued two days ago. Which will be effective from today 6th November. This means that challan will start being issued against those who ignore the rules from today. Also, legal action can also be taken. This rule will not apply only to children below 4 years.
Why is it necessary for the pillion rider to wear a helmet while riding a bike?
Transport Ministry and police officials say that this campaign is being started keeping in mind the safety of the people. Because road accidents are continuously increasing. In Madhya Pradesh, about 6 to 7 thousand two-wheeler drivers and pillion riders are dying in road accidents every year. The reason is that 80 percent of two-wheeler drivers are not wearing helmets nor do they allow their passengers to wear helmets. Therefore, this special campaign is starting from today Thursday which will run continuously. Even after this, if anyone breaks the rules, strict action will be taken against him.
What preparations did the police make for double helmet?
Officials said that major intersections of Bhopal and Indore have been identified. On which our traffic police personnel will be deployed. Besides, these people will also be monitored through CCTV cameras. Apart from this, one mobile team will also take disciplinary action against those breaking traffic rules in each zone. For this, 4 points each are being made in all four police zones. If someone talks about not having money after issuing the challan, then our team has also made arrangements for online transaction. To whom the receipt of the challan will also be given.
