An extremely rare and sensitive case has come to light from Aligarh district of Uttar Pradesh, where a pregnant woman gave birth to abnormal twins during delivery. Children have two heads, four arms and legs and only one torso.
After this incident, the woman’s health deteriorated and she died during treatment.
Delivery took place in Women’s District Hospital
This incident took place at Mohanlal Gautam Women’s District Hospital, Aligarh. On March 17, Akash Kumar, a resident of Bihari Nagar of Sasni Gate police station area, had taken his wife Neeru to the hospital due to labor pain.
Considering the condition of the woman, the doctors advised caesarean operation. After the consent of the family, the operation was done under the supervision of gynecologist Dr. Megha.
Rare case revealed during operation
When the children were born during the operation, the doctors and staff were surprised. Both the newborns were joined to a single torso, while they had two separate heads and four limbs. According to doctors, this is an extremely rare medical condition. At present, the condition of both the children is said to be stable and they are out of danger.
Mother’s condition worsens after seeing children
After seeing the newborns, mother Neeru’s mental and physical condition suddenly deteriorated. According to doctors, he suffered severe shock and his condition became critical. After first aid he was referred to higher medical facility. However, the family took him to a private hospital, where he died during treatment.
Doctors described rare mental condition
CMS of the hospital, Dr. Mohd. According to Tayyab Khan, the woman may have suffered a rare mental condition (postpartum psychosis) after delivery, which left her in deep shock. Doctors had advised to refer him to JN Medical College, but the family took him to a private hospital.
The family performed the last rites
After the death of the woman, her family members have performed her last rites. At the same time, doctors are monitoring the condition of newborn children.
