Three people have been sentenced to life imprisonment and a fine of Rs 6 lakh for cow slaughter in Amreli, Gujarat. The Sessions Court gave this decision. This is the first time that life imprisonment has been given for this crime.
Ahmedabad: In Gujarat, a court has sentenced life imprisonment and a fine of Rs 6 lakh for killing a cow. This decision is of Ahmedabad Amreli Sessions Court. The court sentenced three people to life imprisonment. The court found Akram Haji Solanki, Sattar Ismail Solanki and Qasim Solanki guilty of cow slaughter and beef smuggling. While pronouncing the verdict it was also said that cows are considered sacred in Hindu religion and the accused committed this crime despite knowing this.
This is the first time that life imprisonment has been given for killing a cow. This incident is of 2023. The accused were arrested after cow meat was found from the trio. This incident had created a lot of controversy in Amreli. The Sessions Judge gave this decision after a hearing that lasted for a year. Rizwanaben Bukhari sentenced the accused to life imprisonment. At the same time, the accused say that they will appeal against this decision.
