VHP celebrated the grand 18th Ganeshotsav at Nimibutra Stadium in Bangkok
The festival of Ganpati is being celebrated with joy all over the world. In Thailand too, there was excitement about this festival. The 18th annual Ganeshotsav of Thailand’s largest and grand Vishwa Hindu Parishad Sangh was celebrated with great enthusiasm. The festival was held at Nimibutra Stadium in Bangkok. Thousands of devotees attended this festival organized by Vishwa Hindu Parishad Sangh Thailand.
This festival, a symbol of cultural bridge between India and Thailand, saw a unique confluence of devotion, art and unity. On the beat of drums and drums, devotees looked colorful. Throughout the festival, the echo of ‘Ganpati Bappa Morya’ filled the entire campus with pleasure.
Special attraction of Ganesha statue
The main attraction of this festival was the statue of 10 feet tall Lord Ganpati. In Thailand, this statue was specially prepared by efficient artists of India. Devotees became happy after seeing the statue of Ganapati. His artistry, devotion and craftsmanship won the hearts of the attendees.
Devotees danced on Punei Dhol
Puneri Dhol was a special attraction in this time Ganpati festival organized by Vishwa Hindu Parishad Sangh in Bangkok. This was the first time the 15-member Dhol-Tasha Mandali of Srimanta Dagdusheth Foundation of Pune played ‘Nadbrahm’ dhol. The sound of Punei Dhol instead by him echoed throughout the stadium. The audience participated in the festival with enthusiasm. The event became a historic event for the Marathi Dhol-Tasha tradition in Bangkok.
Devotees bathe in boat
The immersion procession and spiritual harmony Ganesh Visarjan procession made the entire atmosphere devotional. The procession reached the immersion site near Silrook Park on Rama-3 Road via Bangkok’s major commercial routes. Some devotees bathed Ganesha in the boat and shouted ‘Ganpati Bappa Morya’.

In this grand ceremony, Vishwa Hindu Parishad Sangh Thailand President Mrs. Vaishali Tushar Urumkar, Indian Embassy consultant Mr. R.K. Muthu, Shri Yogi ji of Swami Vivekananda Cultural Center, Mrs. Advisor to Prarada Jewelery, Shri. Malik, Vice President Shri. Heads, sponsors and large number of devotees of various institutions including Sushil Saraf, Guru Maharaj, ISKCON (Siam Palace) were present.
This Ganeshotsav has highlighted unity, faith and conservation of Indian culture among the Indian community in Thailand. This tradition, which has been going on for the last 18 years, has inspired many new families to celebrate this festival.
