‘Sabar Bonda’ has won the Grand Jury Award in Sanandens 2025. This is the first Marathi feature to win such a prestigious award. It will be released in India on 19 September.

Out of the competition in around 17,000 films from all over the world, ‘Sabar Bonda’ has been chosen, it was India’s only feature film in this competition and is the first Marathi language film to premiere at this festival. It proved to be a milestone for Reasonal Language films.
Sabar Bonda’s details
Bhushan Manoj, Suraj Suman and Jayashree Jagtap are in the lead roles in Sabar Bonda. Its story revolves around an urban young man named Anand, who is struggling with family pressure, as he is involved in a 10-day mourning ritual in his ancestral village. Amidst the culture of South India and the beauty of the village, she gets support of a childhood friend named Balya, who is facing social boycott.
