UP Flood Relief: 17 districts are in the grip of floods in the state due to floods. CM Yogi Adityanath has instructed all the ministers in charge to intensify relief and rescue operations. So far, about 2.5 lakh people and 30 thousand cattle have been delivered to safe places.
Lucknow. Due to continuous heavy rains in Uttar Pradesh, 17 districts have been hit by floods. Seeing the situation serious, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday directed the ministers in charge of all the flood affected districts to take the responsibility of immediate relief and rescue work. He also appealed to the public representatives to go ahead and help the affected people and take care of their needs.
CM Yogi ordered the officials that no person should be disturbed by floods. The affected people should be transported to safe places and necessary arrangements should also be made for cattle.
2.5 lakh people and 30 thousand cattle were evacuated to safe places
Relief Commissioner Bhanu Chandra Goswami said that 37 tehsils and 688 villages of the state are affected by floods. So far, 2,45,980 people and 30,030 cattle have been evacuated to safe places. Around 27,061 hectares of area is affected by floods. 548 boats and motorboats have been run for relief operations. On Wednesday, 1,904 food packets and 11,350 lunch packets were distributed.
Outposts and refugees in affected areas
996 posts have been built in flood affected areas, which are constantly monitoring the situation. 284 flood refugees are active, where 4,440 people are living temporarily. 626 medical teams have been deployed to check their health. So far 12,298 chlorine tablets and 4,422 ORS packets have been distributed to prevent waterborne diseases.
