150 years of Vande Mataram: CM Yogi said- ‘This song is a symbol of India’s consciousness and duty’

In the program organized at Lok Bhavan on completion of 150 years of Vande Mataram, CM Yogi Adityanath said that this song is a symbol of India’s freedom, unity and duties. He bowed to Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay and took the pledge of Swadeshi.

Lucknow. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that today is a very important day. On completion of 150 years of Vande Mataram song, which became the source of inspiration for the freedom movement, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has inspired to celebrate this day as Memorial Day. CM said that Vande Mataram had become the immortal mantra of India’s independence. Irrespective of the atrocities of foreign rule at the time of independence, every Indian citizen joined the campaign to raise the collective consciousness of the country with this song.

Program held at Lok Bhavan, collective singing of national anthem and pledge of Swadeshi

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed his views in the program organized at Lok Bhavan on the occasion of completion of 150 years of Vande Mataram. During this, there was collective singing of the national anthem and the pledge of Swadeshi was taken. CM Yogi paid tribute to the composer of the national anthem, Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay and visited the exhibition. People present at Lok Bhavan also watched the live telecast of the main event organized by the Union Culture Ministry in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

CM Yogi mentioned Covid management

Referring to the epidemic that occurred 100 years ago, the Chief Minister said that at that time India’s population was 30 crores and crores of people had died. He said that even during the Covid pandemic in independent India, everyone faced the crisis together. The government, administration and every section of the society worked together to control it. CM said that only such sensitive leadership can have true feelings towards India and Indianness.

Vande Mataram is a song that strengthens the mantra of freedom.

Yogi Adityanath said that this song composed in 1875 was not just a song of independence, but it further strengthened the spirit of India’s independence. This song, with its expression in Sanskrit and Bengali, connected the whole of India with the feeling of “Rashtramata”. In 1905, when the British government decided to disband, Vande Mataram inspired Indians to unite and protest. This song resonated with every revolutionary during the freedom struggle.

Symbol of India’s unity and collective consciousness.

CM Yogi said that at every stage of the freedom movement, when any slogan or flag was given, Vande Mataram became its voice. This song is a symbol of the collective expression of India, which inspires every person to rise above caste, religion, creed and religion and think about the nation. He said that Vande Mataram is a collective symbol of devotion and strength towards the Mother Nation. On 24 January 1950, the Constituent Assembly recognized it as the national anthem of India.

Vande Mataram gave new direction and consciousness to India

The Chief Minister said that this song has been taken from Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay’s novel Anand Math, in which he had given voice to the pain of the society struggling with hunger, famine and deprivation. He said that Vande Mataram has been successful in giving a new direction to India and awakening the collective consciousness. This song has been representing the nationalism of India for 150 years.

Vande Mataram inspires towards duties

CM Yogi said that Vande Mataram is not a song of any worship or caste, rather it makes us aware of our duties. He referred to the day Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar handed over the Constitution in 1949 and referred to Prime Minister Modi’s view that along with the rights of the country, one should also remember the duties. CM said that the heights that Uttar Pradesh has reached in the last 8 years are the result of our sense of duty.

A dutiful citizen is the true singer of Vande Mataram.

Yogi Adityanath said that when a teacher inculcates his student, when a soldier protects the country’s borders in the cold of Siachen or in the heat of Rajasthan, when a farmer grows grains by increasing the fertility of his land – then all of them are actually singing Vande Mataram. He said that when a citizen rises above selfishness and walks on the path of duty, then only he shows true devotion towards the Mother Nation.

In this program, Chief Secretary S.P. Goyal, Principal Secretary (Home) Sanjay Prasad, Director General of Police Rajiv Krishna, Agriculture Production Commissioner Deepak Kumar and many officials were present.
