Where and how did the matter come to light
This matter is of Garhi police station area of Baihar development block. Parasamau Kasturba Gandhi Girls Hostel is operated under the District Education Centre, where this student was staying. It was only when the student gave birth to a newborn baby that the entire incident came to light. As soon as the matter came to light, the administration swung into action and on the basis of preliminary investigation, the hostel superintendent was suspended.
The investigation revealed the fact that the hostel management did not show any seriousness about the physical changes of the student and the changes in her behaviour. The student remained absent from the hostel for a long time, yet neither her family members were contacted nor any health checkup was conducted. This negligence is considered to be the most worrying part of this entire matter.
