11 rapes, multiple sexual offences: Star West Indies cricketer accused of harassment, assault by several women

New Delhi: A spine-chilling incident has come to the light as one unnamed West Indies cricket team player has been accused of multiple rapes and sexual offences in Guyana. This shocking incident comes to the fore amid the ongoing West Indies-Australia Test series, acting as a scar on the entire Windies cricketing fraternity.

As per West Indian media outlet SportsMax TV, the accused player has raped as many as 11 women and sexually harassed and assaulted several others in Guyana. The incident has sent shock waves across the West Indies team which has never ever witnessed something of this sort in its cricketing history.

However, the identity of the cricket player still remain undisclosed but he’s touted to be one of the famous cricketers in the nation. It is further being learnt that no action has been taken against the cricketer till now and Cricket West Indies has also refused to comment on the shocking matter.

Incident first reported by Guyanese publication

The appalling incident first came to the light after it was reported by Kaieteur News, a Guyana-based publication, which happened to have broke the story first. They published an article which was titled ‘Monster in Maroon’ revealing the accusations made by 11 women, which includes on teenager as well.

The report further states that the charges against the accused range from sexual assault and rape to unwelcome advances. After the incident was reported by the news channel, it claimed that their have been multiple attempts to shield the identity of the player and his ill deeds.

‘Cricket West Indies is unaware of the circumstances and, therefore, is not in a position to comment at this time,’ CWI President Kishore Shallow was quoted as saying in the report after the CWI was approached by multiple local media houses.
