Sanju Samson reveals about Rohit Sharma’s praise for his batting
In an interaction with Dhanya Varma on her YouTube channel Sanju Samson opened up about the backing he received from Indian captain Rohit Sharma. Samson has been in and out of the Indian team and was also not picked in the CWC 2023 squad. Sanju Samson said:
Rohit Sharma was the first or second person who came to me and talked. He told me ‘hey Sanju, wassup. You performed well in the IPL, but hit too many sixes against Mumbai Indians. You bat really well’. I had great support from him. People call me the unluckiest cricketer, but where I’ve reached currently, it’s much more than what I thought I could.
Apart from being dropped from India’s 2023 ODI World Cup squad, Smason was also not picked for the 2023 Asian Games team, which also shocked many cricket experts.
The destination is far away for Sanju Samson
In the present Indian team’s scenario, the destination looks very far for Sanju Samson due to the presence of talented wicket-keeper batsmen such as Ishan Kishan, Jitesh Sharma, and Rishabh Pant when he returns to the team. Sanju has been very inconsistent with his performances due to which the selectors are not looking towards him. Samson will have to work very hard if he wants to earn a place in the Indian team.
