The neonatology doctor said that after recovering from pneumonia, the body of children often becomes weak because during the infection, there is a possibility of less energy and nutrients in their body. In such a situation, it is important to take a nutritious and balanced diet during the recovery period, which will help in strengthening the lungs as well as increasing the immunity and the child can recover quickly. During recovery, an easy to digest diet rich in vitamins and minerals should be taken. First of all, keep in mind that feed the child in small quantities frequently, because the body needs energy gradually.

Pay attention to diet
In the morning, give lukewarm milk to the child in which some turmeric or honey can be added, but this is for children above one year. Do not give it to a child younger than that. Along with this, first take advice from your expert. It helps in reducing swelling of the body and giving relief to the lungs. Along with this, giving semolina or oats porridge, whole grain khichdi or moong dal soup can be beneficial.
In the afternoon, eat light and balanced food like pulses, rice, vegetable khichdi, green vegetables (spinach, bottle gourd, tinda) and curd. If the child is a little older then he can also be given homemade bread and vegetables. You can also add some ghee in it. Due to which the body will get energy. Give fruits like apple, papaya, orange or banana to the child in the evening.

Vitamin C is found in abundance in these, which can help in improving immunity and recovery. Do not give packaged juice or cold drinks to children. Instead give juice made from fresh fruits. Give light soup or porridge for dinner. Adding a small amount of ginger, garlic and turmeric to the soup reduces the risk of reoccurrence of infection. It is also important to give lukewarm water before sleeping so that mucus does not accumulate in the throat.
