During Bihar elections 2025, BJP candidate Anil Singh had to face opposition from villagers in Hisua, Nawada. The villagers accused him of neglecting the area for 5 years and coming only at election time.
Voting for the second phase of Bihar Assembly elections 2025 continues on Tuesday. Meanwhile, a big news has come out from Hisua assembly constituency of Nawada district which is heating up the election atmosphere. Here, NDA’s BJP candidate Anil Singh had to face heavy opposition from villagers and opposition supporters in Dhuria village, due to which a situation of tension was created in the midst of election excitement. The villagers expressed their displeasure with the candidate and asked him to leave the village immediately.
Reason for protest: ‘Come only at the time of elections’
This controversy started when BJP candidate Anil Singh reached Dhuria village on the day of voting to meet the voters and create an atmosphere in his favor. The villagers alleged that Anil Singh has no grassroots support from the village and comes only “to pay a visit during election time”, while he paid no attention to the development of the area in the last five years.
A heated argument broke out between Anil Singh and some people of the village regarding this allegation, which soon took the form of a brawl. According to sources, Congress leader Jitendra Kumar alias Jitu Singh and his supporters had a hand in stoking the fire of this protest. There was a scuffle and clash between the two sides.
During this, BJP candidate Anil Singh was defending himself by saying, “I have not said anything, these people are doing wrong to me and creating unnecessary disputes.” As soon as information about the tense situation in the village was received, the local administration immediately reached the spot. The police force intervened between both the parties and controlled the situation and brought the candidate out safely.
Political equation of Hisua seat
Hisua seat is an important seat in Nawada district where the contest is often tough. Such incidents reflect the intense rivalry and infighting between opposition parties at the grassroots level on the day of voting. Despite the protests, no written complaint has been submitted to the police by either party. However, the local administration has increased surveillance in the village to ensure that the voting process is conducted peacefully. This incident shows that this time the voters of Bihar are becoming more vocal in asking questions and taking accounts from their public representatives.
