Why Congress got limited in Bihar, know 4 big reasons for Rahul Gandhi’s defeat

Congress’s worst performance so far in Bihar elections 2025, the party was limited to just 6 seats. Congress and Rahul Gandhi suffered huge losses due to Rahul Gandhi’s absence, weak campaigning and lack of coordination in the Grand Alliance.

Bihar Election 2025 Results: Nine months after Congress’s disappointing performance in the Delhi elections, the country’s oldest political party faced defeat in Bihar too. The word ‘defeat’ in Bihar is very mild for Congress, in fact, Congress has completely collapsed here. Bihar elections in 2025 have proved to be the worst election for Congress so far.

1- Rahul Gandhi stayed away from election campaign for a long time

Congress won in Kishanganj thanks to former AIMIM leader Kamrul Hoda. Manohar Singh won in Manihari. Manoj Biswas won in Forbesganj, Surendra Prasad in Valmiki Nagar, Abhishek Ranjan in Chanpatia and Abidur Rehman won in Araria. Critics say that Congress has lost seats due to its arrogance and distance from the voters. At the same time, some people say that Rahul Gandhi’s long absence from the election campaign is also a reason for this.

2- Rahul Gandhi disappeared as soon as the Voter Rights March ended

The aim of the Voter Adhikar Yatra was to give impetus to Congress’ Bihar plan, so that its voters realize the ‘vote theft’ being done by the Bharatiya Janata Party in collusion with the Election Commission and motivate them to leave JDU and ‘forever’ Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. But as soon as the Voter Adhikar Yatra ended, Rahul Gandhi disappeared. After this, voters leaned towards BJP due to their absence in Bihar and the absence of any major scheme for the people of the state in the Congress agenda.

3- Powerful rallies of BJP’s star campaigners

Star campaigners of BJP held massive rallies in Bihar. Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself held 14 rallies and seven tours of Bihar. Apart from him, Amit Shah and Yogi Adityanath also gave more than a dozen speeches.

4- Two big leaders of Grand Alliance delayed in sharing the stage

In Bihar, Tejashwi Yadav and Rahul Gandhi needed to be seen on the stage together, but there was a lot of delay on the part of the Grand Alliance and both the leaders were not seen on the same stage till October 29, a week before the first phase of voting. Some Congress workers even said that we are putting up posters, doing road shows but without Rahul Gandhi everything seems incomplete.
