Australia has announced the team for the white ball series against Pakistan. 13 players have been selected for the T20 series, while 14 names have been announced for the ODI series. Pat Cummins will be seen handling the command of Australia’s ODI team against Pakistan. But, the big question is who will be the captain of the T20 team? Actually, Australia has announced the team for the T20 series but the name of its captain is yet to be confirmed. The 3-match ODI and T20 series between Pakistan and Australia will be played from 4 to 18 November.
Why did Australia need a new T20 captain?
Although Mitchell Marsh is the captain of Australia’s T20 team, he will not captain the series against Pakistan. The reason for Mitchell Marsh not captaining in this series is actually his not playing in this series. Australian all-rounder Marsh will be out of the T20 series against Pakistan for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy to be held against India.
The T20 series against Pakistan will start from 14th November and continue till 18th November. Meanwhile, Australia’s Test team selected for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy has to assemble in Perth to complete the preparations, where the first Test of the series will be played from November 22. Now since Marsh is a part of Australia’s Test team against India, this is the reason why he will not captain the T20 series against Pakistan.
